Privacy Policy
Who we are
GridRun is a location-based team game made by Hello World Private Limited. This policy explains what the game collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions: adamwaheed@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Sign-in: your phone number or email address, or nothing if you play as a guest.
- Profile: the player name you choose and your team.
- Location: your precise location while the game is open on screen, to place you on the map, check that moves are made in person, and work out what is in reach. The game does not use location in the background.
- Gameplay: lines, squares, items, missions, levels and the actions you take.
- Messages: private chats with friends you have accepted, and friend requests.
- Safety: players you block, and reports you send or that are made about you.
- Notifications: a push token for your device, if you allow notifications.
What other players see
Your player name, team, and the lines and squares you build. The team feed shows activity by area, never your exact position, and you can hide your name in it (Profile → Privacy & play). "Rival footsteps" only tells nearby players that someone is moving close by, never who or where, and you can turn it off. Private messages are seen only by you and the friend you chat with — and by our moderators if one of you reports a message.
How we use it
To run the game: your account, the shared map, scores, friends and chat; to stop cheating such as location spoofing; to keep players safe (filtering messages and names, handling reports); and to send the notifications you turn on. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use it to track you across other apps or websites.
Services we use
- Supabase (database, sign-in and hosting, Singapore region) stores the game data.
- MsgOwl delivers sign-in codes by SMS, so it receives your phone number.
- Apple Push Notification service delivers notifications.
- OpenStreetMap map tiles: loading the map sends the tile server the map area you are viewing and your IP address, as with any web map.
How long we keep it
Your account and game data are kept until you delete your account. Reports are kept for up to 12 months for safety. Lines you built stay on the shared map without your name until they expire (about three days).
Your choices
You can change notification, footsteps and feed settings in Profile, block any player, and delete your account at any time in Profile → Account → Delete account. Deleting removes your sign-in, profile, items, friends, messages and history straight away. You can also email adamwaheed@gmail.com to access, correct or delete your data.
Children
GridRun is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date below and, for important changes, tell you in the game.
